Web Ticks

The red web tick (Tetranychus cinnabarinus) - concerns to the group of serious wreckers of almost all indoor plants.

The adult tick is very small - females of 0,5 mm, males - 0,3 mm. Females are of light-red color, males of brightly red colour. Reproduction of the tick increases with rise of temperature. Except the red flat tick are extended also the ordinary web tick (Tetranychus urticae) and the Atlantic web tick (Tetranychus atlanticus).

Ticks settle on the top and bottom parts of leaf, on runaways, on branches, and at mass reproduction and on fruits. The damaged plants differ with pale yellow coloring. Between leaves and stalks of plants there is a thin transparent web. The plant weakens, become bare, fructification decreases. Promotes defeat web tick dry air indoors. Ticks are dangerous also that under adverse conditions of a female bury in soil or secluded places (cracks in pots, under the fallen down leaves etc.) Also run into a condition named diapause. During this moment all processes of ability to live of ticks stop (it as though runs into hibernation). At approach of favorable conditions ticks leave a condition of diapause and start to develop and breed. Therefore the main measure of preventive maintenance is maintenance of optimum conditions for development of plants and first of all high humidity of air. Also from reasons of preventive maintenance of occurrence of web ticks, it is necessary to gather the old fallen down leaves, to delete bad flowers, periodically to wash a plant with damp sponge or to arrange warm shower (if the plant doesn't transfer such procedures, accurately to clean with a soft brush).

Struggle measures. If defenition of plants isn't strong at first it is possible to try to struggle with the wrecker, carefully having wiped leaves from both parties and stalks with soap solution. At stronger defeat apply spraying with different sprays for insects - neoron, phitoverm, fufan, agravertin, sulphur).
