Veltheimia

Veltheimia

This plant is obliged by the botanical name to Johann Gottlibu Gledichu (1714-1786), German botany.

From 5 kinds growing in Southern Africa in culture meets first of all Veltheimiacapensis.

This imposing, bulbous plant blossoming in winter.

First of all wavy on edge leaves grow which are 20-30 sm. in length and 10-12 sm. in width. After that it's time to transfer the plants to a cool place. Thus Veltheimia prefers constantly humidified soil. The place should be light and cool. Since March leaves die off, and since May the dormant period begins.
