The native land is the South America. This plant is very similar on Gloksinia, but in difference from last, blossoms much more for a long time (all the summer long), has no tubers, and besides not such whimsical.

Streptocarpus is afraid of draughts and cold air in the winter. For safe flowering of Streptocarpus is important to make all conditions of the maintenance.

Streptocarpus loves bright diffused light, with shadeness from direct solar beams in the summer. The best place for this plant - east or western windows.

Leaves of Streptocarpus don't love when there is the water on them, but this plant loves damp air. Therefore periodically spray air round the plant from small spray.

Streptocarpus breeds by bush division at change or by seeds in the spring.
