It is said that still ancient Romans knew about this plant and landed it on the top numbers of fortifications and roofs of houses for lightning tap.

Sedum has over 500 kinds. Sedum is the largest in family Crassulaceae.

Not winter-hardy kinds approaching for usual room culture so are diverse and beautiful that it would be possible to collect an effective collection of these surprising plants with ease.

All tropical room forms of Sedum require very considerable quantity of light, therefore they are necessary for containing at a southern window or in the open air in the street. Rewintering is better in a cool place at temperature 8-10 °C. At necessity Sedum replace only in a little larger ware in sandy soil.

Sedum is damaged by root warms and by various decays. Stagnation of a moisture at plentiful watering often leads to rotting of roots.
