Ruellia
The native land is tropical and subtropical areas of America. In the nature grows 5 kinds of Ruellia. This fast-growing indoor plant which can be grown up in pendant baskets.
In the summer the temperature should be not above 22°C. In the winter minimum 14°C.
Ruellia is a photophilous plant, but in the spring and in the summer Ruellia demands shadeness from the midday sun.
Watering should be plentiful in the summer, the soil should be wet all the time slightly, in the winter moderated, but the soil shouldn't dry up completely.
From April till August Ruellia feeds up with liquid fertilizer for room decorative-blossoming plants every two weeks.
Ruellia requires the raised humidity of air. If in the summer the temperature keeps long time above 18°C it is possible to place a pot with Ruellia in an aquarium at which bottom water is poured. However plant roots should not be constantly in water.
Ruellia breeds by shanks and seeds.
