Rhoeo

The native land - damp rainforests of Mexico, the Antilles.

With the years the bottom leaves of Rhoeo die off, and the top leaves as though form the socket. The flowers of Rhoeo are white and small, inflorescences are collected on short pedicels. Inflorescences are hidden inside of castle-kind coverlet. Flowering can occur at any time of the year.

The temperature should be moderated, in the summer is optimum about 20-21°C. A winter minimum 16°C.

Rhoeo is a photophilous plant, shadeness from direct solar beams is required only in the summer in sunny days at a southern window. Rhoeo grows well on east and western windows.

Watering should be plentiful since spring till the autumn - the soil should be damp all the time. Watering must be moderated in the winter - the soil should be slightly wet. For watering is desirable to use warm water, especially in the winter.

From March till August Rhoeo feeds up with fertilizer for room decorative-deciduous plants every two weeks.

Rhoeo loves very damp air, therefore leaves regularly spray, it's possible to place a plant on a tray with a wet pebble.

Rhoeo breeds by division of a bush or rooting of the lateral runaways which have been cut off at the basis of a stalk.
