There are over 30 kinds of Peonies. On a structure of the flower Peonies are united in 5 groups, all can be grown up in an open ground.

Peonies love a solar and spacious site. They should be removed from trees and bushes, and also from each other to provide a good food and air circulation.

As the curious fact can be noticed that the flower borrowed the name from the real person, the known Greek doctor — Peon. He treated the soldiers very well during Trojan war, from for what his teacher, the doctor Esculap, has ostensibly envied the pupil and has decided to poison him.

On one of such legends, gods have saved talented Peon, having transformed him into a beautiful plant which in such kind successfully continues to treat people.

Peonies are subject to an attack of a bronze-bugs in length of 14-20 mm. Mice eat tubers, gnaw round roots and gnaw through stalks of peonies.
